Edible flowers recipes

As a follow up post about my Hibiscus Edible Flowers in Greece and a reaction about a cookingdiva making soup using Garden Nasturtium Edible Flowers, let me add also an edible flowers recipes for soup.

Simple Indian Cress soup recipe

  • edible flowers recipesCut 2 onions
  • Remove the stems from the leaves of the Garden Nasturtium (Indian Cress), cut the stems in pieces and add to the onions
  • Brown the onions in butter with the Indian Cress on a low fire
  • Meanwhile cut the leaves in small pieces and add to the onion and stems
  • Add chicken stock, boil (mix if needed) and add salt and pepper to taste
  • Serve with Garden Nasturtium flower in the soup

Gin Cucumber Martini

Gin Cucumber martini ingredients

 

For 1 cocktail you will need:

 

  • 2 1/2 oz (70ml) gin
  • 1/3 oz (10 ml) mint martini
  • 1/3 oz (10 ml) sugar syrup
  • 10 leaves fresh mint
  • 8 slices of cucumber
  • 2 strips of cucumber
  • ice cubes

 

Gin Cucumber martini ingredients

 

  1. Add cucumber slices, munt leaves and sugar syrup in a cocktail shaker. Add ice cubes and gin and shake ferociously.
     
  2. Poor Martini in a chilled cocktail glas, turn the glas when poring, so the Martini will drip down your glas.
  3. Take a sieve and add the drink from the shaker through the sieve to your Martini.
     
  4. Garnish with the cucumber strips and serve

 

Mint Martini recipe

 

Since you can’t buy Mint Martini (yet), you need to make it yourself, so that’s your excuse to buy yourself an extra bottle of Martini!

 

  • Take a good sip and replace it with a handful of mint leaves.
  • Close the bottle and put in a cool, dark place. Go shake from time to time.
  • Check the taste and remove the mint leaves when the mint perfume is at your liking. (5 days should do the trick)

 

Use normal Martini and add some mint extract if you really want to enjoy your gin cucumber Martini in 10 minutes from now!
