Valencia Oranges

You can have a first indication whether or not your oranges will be sweet, when you buy Valencia Oranges: Valencia Oranges have not a lot seeds and is a variety of sweet oranges.

What are the numbers on the Valencia Oranges?

In the above pictures we see numbers on the Valencia oranges: on the left the orange got number 3108 and on the right the orange got number 4014. These are the so called PLU numbers: Price Look-Up Codes

Price Look-Up codes or Product Lookup Number, commonly called PLU codes or PLU numbers, are identification numbers. The code is a four-digit number identifying the type of produce, sometimes including the variety.

• Organic produce is denoted by a five-digit number whose first digit is 9;
• an 8 prefix indicates genetically modified food.

In the picture of oranges above:

• 3108 - ORANGE: Valencia, medium
• 4014 - ORANGE: Valencia, small

So the numbers tell us that we bought Valencia Oranges (a sweet Orange, but if picked too early, it can still be sour…), and the 3108 orange should be bigger than the 4014 orange. On the picture you see the same size or oranges, yet the 3018 had a thinner skin, so more juice than the 4014 orange.

How to get a free virtual makeover

It’s quite easy: all you need to do is:

• have a picture of yourself ready and
• sign up to start your virtual makeover.

First I was a bit confused: I uploaded my picture in my personal profile. Of course that’s your avatar or logo and will never change.

You need to go to "Start Your Makeover" and only then upload your picture.

The first step will be telling the program where your eyes, hair, mouth and face is located in your picture. Again I was already trying to tell the program where my eyes should be… Wrong! At this stage you point out in your picture where you would like to make changes in step 2!

Yes, in step 2 the real fun starts. On the spot I added some hair on my bald head, tried some accessories (but that’s not really me), added a face blush and some lipstick. The latter makes me a metro-sexual for 1 day it seems…
