Taste of Thai cooking

easy curry chicken recipe
thai cook

I have a dear friend who says she loves Thai foods except for the spicy Thai recipes... So she asked me if I good give her some Thai food recipes. But she had some restrictions: Please no Thai green chicken curry, nor any Thai chicken recipe for that matter. Nor should your Thai food recipes use Thai curry paste, as I wouldn't have a clue where to buy Thai curry paste back in my village. And since I am on a diet: please do not use coconut milk. And try to make your Thai food not too spicy...

:-) ... in true Thailand spirit I put a smile on my face and gave her the recipe below.

Taste of more authentic Thai cooking

If you can get hold to it, replace the meat curry powder with green Thai curry paste and this taste of  Thai recipe will be much closer to the authentic Thai cooking!

And if you want a quick dip: make a "Thai" dip sauce with mayonnaise and a dash of Thai green curry paste to taste.

For those who want more spicy Thai food recipes, add some chopped fresh green chilies to taste!

INGREDIENTS : Taste of Thai recipe

  • 5 1/4 ounce (150 gr) pork minced meat
  • 24 Thai Basil leaves
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Thai fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon tomato ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon meat curry powder

PREPARATION : Taste of Thai easy pork rib recipe

  1. thai cookingChop the Thai basil leaves fine. You should have at least 1 big teaspoon of chopped Thai basil for each burger you make.
  2. Chop the garlic fine as well.
  3. Add the chopped Thai basil, garlic, curry powder, Thai fish sauce, brown sugar, tomato ketchup and lime juice to the minced meat and with your hands, make sure the ingredients get divided in your meat.
  4. Make a flat burger of about 3/4 inch (2 cm)
  5. Put oil in a frying pan and fry until your Thai burger is ready. Myself I like the meat to be very dry, so I fried my burger 6 minutes on 1 side and 6 minutes on the other side on a low fire.
  6. Serve with other Thai cooking dishes or if you are not in a cooking mood: serve with a Thai dip sauce.
