Which food with negative calories is both delicious and healthy? Find out in our top most healthy 10 items out of a list of 100 negative calorie foods.

10 most healthy negative calories food list

Your body will crave these 10 negative calorie diet foods because it will make you look young and healthy. They contain lots of antioxidants that:

  • prevent disease
     
  • damp down inflammation in the body
     
  • let you age more slowly
     
  • help to reduce risks of getting cancer.

1. Berries

Don’t think only Acai Berries! All berries :

  • have the highest fruit sources for antioxidants
     
  • contain lots of fibers and other beneficial nutrients.

From the berries, wild blueberries are the most healthy from our local berries. Substitute dessert or sweetened cereal with a mixture of:

  • blueberries,
     
  • nonfat, plain yogurt,
     
  • fresh, unsalted almonds or pecans,
     
  • sprinkled with ground cinnamon and ground flaxseed.

2. Nuts

Nuts are a great source of vegetable protein, vegetarians will confirm that. Nuts will benefit your health because they:

  • lower cholesterol levels,
     
  • boost your immune system,
     
  • help prevent osteoporosis and diabetes
     
  • reduce risks of heart and other age-related diseases.

Substitute candy with nuts!

3. Citrus fruit

Especially lemon is underutilized in water as a healthy zero calorie foods drink. Recommended for those that "don’t like the taste of water" like me 🙂

Citrus fruit contains lots of vitamin C and is rich in fiber. Substitute sweetened cereal with oranges!

4. Broccoli

The more broccoli you eat, the healthier you’ll be. It helps prevent dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, heart disease and obesity.

Broccoli is absolutely loaded with Vitamin C, folic acid, fiber and nutrients yet basically calorie free.

Substitute for French fries or any potato when steamed and eaten with olive oil.

5. Red wine

Red wine helps you reducing the spike in sugar after you eat. But only drink at most 2 glasses of red wine a day! 1 glass is about 5 to 6 oz or 150 to 180 ml.

Red wine further helps reduce inflammation and one glass is as powerful as taking one cholesterol-lowering drug."

Substitute beer and distilled spirits with red wine.

6. Salmon

Salmon is high in protein and omega 3-fats and one of the healthiest foods you can eat. Both farm salmon and wild salmon.

Substitute prime rib with salmon.

7. Spinach

Do look for the nonfat diary you prefer. I don’t like skimmed cows milk but do love goats milk with some added water.

Substitute for ice cream. I just love a cup of goats milk straight out of the fridge!

9. Beans

Another great protein source, especially when you love to eat black and red beans. They are high in folic acid, without the bad saturated fats.

Beans are a great substitute for fatty hamburger, ham or bacon and make a strong breakfast.

10. Green tea

A bit more expensive than water with lemon, but my favorite drink during the day.

Green Tea is loaded with antioxidants that help crank up metabolism and burn belly fat.

It’s calorie-free with light to moderate caffeine. Don’t add honey, sugar nor calorie-free sweeteners: this ancient Asian drink is at its best when pure.
